Welcome to another episode of the Mastering Counseling podcast! This week Megan was joined by Mari A. Lee, LMFT, CSAT-S, who is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified sex addiction therapist and supervisor, and founder of several businesses, including her own private practice, Growth Counseling Services, as well as The Counselor’s Coach, a site dedicated to helping clinicians grow their practices and successfully manage the business end of their careers.
After working in business for several years, Mari returned to school to study marriage and family therapy at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California before opening her own private practice, where she is recognized for her clinical work with sex addicts and partners and spouses of sexually compulsive people. In addition to running her own businesses, she is also a best-selling author ( Facing Heartbreak: Steps to Recovery for Partners of Sex Addicts | Healing Betrayal: First Steps for Partners and Spouses of Sex and Pornography Addicts) and conducts frequent presentations and trainings on many different topics, such as sex and love addiction, partner’s betrayal trauma, and women’s issues.

Here’s what others who have received coaching from Mari have to say:
“Mari Lee has been instrumental and directional in guiding me toward a career as a therapist. Mari clearly outlined the necessary steps that I would accomplish while supporting and encouraging me with experience and seasoned guidance and tools. Subsequently, I received an MSSW from Columbia University, I completed level I EMDR training, I received my certification from IITAP as a CSAT, and I have launched a successful private practice. I count Mari as one of my primary supports. I also consider Mari to be a colleague with whom I can explore issues related to my practice and issues that my practice brings up for me. Most importantly, she is a highly skilled clinician, and someone whom I admire professionally.” – Bryan Palmer, LCSW, CSAT, Founder Therapy Works, Miami Beach, FL
“Mari, I am truly excited and grateful! You have reduced the stress and supported my business to truly thrive…and you have relieved my mind in untold ways, thank you for your coaching support!” – Leslie Baker, LMFT, Pleasanton, CA
